1. WHAT NEO-PRESOL® LOTION IS AND WHAT IT IS USED FOR

Methyl Prednisolone, a corticosteroid with 5 times the activity of hydrocortisone has potent anti-inflammatory, antipruritic and anti-allergic properties. Neomycin, an antibiotic with a wide range of antibacterial action, is effective against practically all the bacterial implicated in skin infections. Aluminum Chlorhydroxide complex produces antiperspirant and astringent effects desirable in the therapy of acne vulgaris. The action of Sulphur in this preparation is mainly Keratolytic although, it also has some topical antifungal effect.


Neo-presol lotion is effective in the control and treatment of acne vulgaris, acne rosacea and saeborrhoeic dermatitis. It is very effective in the control of skin irritation and eruption that oftenoccur after shaving.

2. BEFORE YOU USE NEO-PRESOL® LOTION
Do not use Neo-presol® Lotion
– If you are allergic or hypersensitive to any of the active substance(s) or any of the other ingredients of Neo-presol® Lotion.

Neo-Presol is contraindicated in tuberculosis of the skin, herpes simplex, vaccinia and variccelia.

Take special care with Neo-presol® Lotion

-If irritation or hypersensitivity should occur, treatment should be discontinued.
– Neomycin may occasionally induce hypersensitivity reactions but Neo-Presol is generally well tolerated.

– Before treatment with Neo-presol® Lotion, speak to your healthcare provider if you have tuberculosis
of the skin, herpes simplex, vaccine and varicella.

-Avoid contact with the eyes.

-More frequent use may cause excessive drying of the skin in some patients.

Using other medicines
Please tell your doctor, health care provider or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any
other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription.

Pregnancy and breast-feeding
Neo-presol lotion should be used with caution in pregnancy.
Driving and using machines
Neo-presol® Lotion has no effect on the ability to drive or use machines

3. HOW TO USE NEO-PRESOL® LOTION
A sufficient quantity of Neo-presol lotion should be applied to the affected areas once or twice a day, taking care to avoid contact with the eyes. More frequent use may cause excessive drying of the skin in some patients
If you use more Neo-presol® Lotion than you should
There is no over dosage in the application of Neo-presol lotion since it is to be applied externally.

. POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS
Like all medicines, Neo-presol® Lotion can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

tell your doctor, health care provider or pharmacist.

HOW TO STORE NEO-PRESOL® LOTION
Keep out of the reach and sight of children.
Do not store above 30ºC in tight container protected from light and moisture
Do not use this medication after the expiry date which is stated on the carton after {MM/YY}.The
expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
Do not throw away any medicines via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to
throw away medicines you no longer use. These measures will help protect the environment.

What Neo-Presol® Lotion contains
– The active substances are Methyl prednisolone Acetate, Neomycin Sulphate and Sulphur (from
colloidal sulphur)
– The other ingredients are White soft Paraffin, Liquid Paraffin, Stearyl Alcohol, Stearic Acid,
Cetomacrogol 1000, Purified Water, Propylene Glycol, Perfume (fragnance), Aluminium
Chlorhydroxide complex 50%

What Neo-presol® Lotion looks like and contents of the pack
A smooth yellow homogenous lotion with characteristic fragrance presented in 25ml plastic bottle
with slip-on cap. The lotion is finally packed in chip cardboard box.

Neo-Presol Lotion is a yellow lotion with characteristic fragrance free from contaminants contained in
25ml Sagomated bottle with tip, covered with tamper proof cap, packed in hardboard carton with
leaflet enclosed.
